California CLE Rules

AILA Programs

 

AILA's Provider Status: Approved Multiple Activity Provider and Legal Specialization Provider - All live programs are presumptively approved.
Approved Programs: In-Person Conferences
Live Webcasts of In-Person Conferences
Live Audio and Web Seminars
OnDemand Programs
Credit Available: View your state's conference information page for the amount and type of credit available for in-person conferences and live webcasts of in-person conferences. Audio/web seminars are all 90 minutes in length and are eligible for 1.5 general credits, unless otherwise noted. OnDemand programs receive the same amount of credit as the live version of the program.
Credit Restrictions: OnDemand programs qualify for either self-study or participatory credits. Participatory credit is only available for in-person conference OnDemand from January 1, 2011 and for seminar OnDemand from June 1, 2009.
AILA's Reporting Requirements: AILA does not report attendance.
Attendee Compliance for CLE: Each attendee must submit and affirm the sessions they attended using webCLE. A four-digit attendance verification code is given during each session and must also be submitted. Attorneys must complete their webCLE submission within one week of the event to receive a certificate of attendance and to have their attendance reported.

 

 

 

MCLE Requirements

 

 

 

General Credit Requirements 25 total credit hours per compliance period.
Specialized Credit Requirements: 4 credits of legal ethics, 1 credit of competence issues, and 2 credits of elimination of bias (at least one of the two elimination of bias credit hours must be devoted to implicit bias).
Compliance Period Length: 3 years
Compliance Deadline: January 31
Reporting Deadline: February 1
Credit Calculation: 60 minutes per credit hour

Attorney Reporting Requirements: Attorneys must submit compliance card attesting to completion of all required credits by February 1. Attorneys should not send in any other documentation unless requested by the Bar. Attorneys should maintain proof of compliance (certificates of attendance) for one year beyond the reporting deadline in the event of an audit.
