July 16, 2019. Occupational Employment Survey Wage Data Update

On July 1, 2019, the Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) published the latest prevailing wage data from the Occupational Employment Survey as generated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for use July 2019-June 2020. Updates include:

  • The Occupational Employment Statistics (OES) program has made changes to the metropolitan and nonmetropolitan area data. OES continues to publish data for metropolitan and nonmetropolitan areas that cover the full geography of the United States. However, the level of detail available has been reduced. Learn more about the metropolitan and nonmetropolitan area changes.
  • OFLC continues to use the 2010 Standard Occupational Classification codes. However, where OES aggregated some occupations, OFLC disaggregated the occupations using the same wage for each detailed occupation. It should also be noted that due to limitations in the OES data, the wages for 45-3011 (Fishers and Related Fishing Workers) uses the mean wage for 45-0000 (Farming, Fishing, and Forestry Occupations). Learn more about OES occupation changes.
