USCIS Makes a Technical Update to USCIS Policy Manual Regarding Certificates of Citizenship

USCIS provided notice regarding a technical update made to Volume 12, Citizenship and Naturalization, Part H, Children of U.S. Citizens, Chapter 4, Automatic Acquisition of Citizenship after Birth (INA 320), in the USCIS Policy Manual that clarified that a person who is born a U.S. national and is the child of a U.S. citizen may acquire citizenship and may obtain a Certificate of Citizenship without having to establish lawful permanent resident (LPR) status.
