AILA Joins Joint Comment Opposing Changes to USCIS Policy Manual Involving Application of Discretion

On August 13, 2020, AILA joined the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) and over 100 national, state and local organizations in a comment opposing changes to the USICS Policy Manual related to the application of discretion in USCIS adjudications. The comment argues that the changes are material and substantive modifications of long-standing adjudication practices, beyond the statutory and regulatory authority of USCIS.
