AILA Submits Comments on Form I-131A, Application for Travel Document (Carrier Documentation)

2/18/20 AILA Doc. No. 20021902. Admissions & Border

AILA submitted comments on 2/18/20 in response to proposed revisions to Form I-131A, Application for Travel Document (Carrier Documentation). AILA hopes the proposed revisions will standardize the process for travel to the United States for persons with unexpired advance parole or EADs with travel endorsement that have been lost, stolen, destroyed, or damaged while abroad. Among other things, AILA expressed concerns regarding the instructions on how to file an I-131A application at a U.S. consular post and the online payment process for paying the I-131A filing. AILA also urged USCIS to reconsider and revise its current policies relating to the adjudication advance parole documents when individuals travel outside of the United States while the application is pending with USCIS.
