Dara Lind Releases IJ Guidance Following the Federal Court Order in Al Otro Lado v. Wolf
On November 19, 2019, a federal judge limited the Trump administration’s asylum ban 2.0 from being applied to thousands of asylum seekers who were unlawfully prevented from accessing the U.S. asylum process before the asylum ban was implemented. On Friday, November 22, 2019, ProPublica reported that the immigration judges adjudicating these cases had not been notified about the federal court order. After the article was published on Friday, November 22, 2019, DOJ shared this guidance with immigration judges. ProPublica reporter, Dara Lind, tweeted this guidance on November 27, 2019.
