EOIR Rescinds and Cancels Director’s Memorandum on EOIR’s Response to COVID-19

EOIR Acting Director Sirce Owen issued Policy Memorandum (PM) 25-03, “Cancellation of Director’s Memorandum 22-02,” which rescinds and cancels the 11/8/21 Director’s Memorandum (DM) 22-02, “Updated Guidance on EOIR’s Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak.” The memo states that because the national public health emergency related to COVID-19 was terminated on 4/10/23, there is no longer a need for any particular EOIR COVID-19–related guidance at this time. The memo notes that the rescission of DM 22-02 does not reinstate the 6/11/20 PM 20-13, “EOIR Practices Related to the COVID-19 Outbreak.”
