Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2019: Key Considerations and Anticipated Impact
Given the recent passage of H.R. 1044, AILA would like to share this update on the status of the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2019 (H.R. 1044 and S. 386) and analysis about possible impacts on the current green card backlog, as well as on future wait times for both employment-based and family-sponsored immigrant visas. Given the divergent impact on our members’ clients, AILA has not taken a position on the bill. However, as we recognize the significant impact this legislation would have on our members' practices if enacted, AILA is committed to providing updates on the status of the legislation.
