Practice Alert: Template for CRCL Complaint Regarding Failures to Provide Language Access
The American Immigration Council and other detention advocacy partners have created a template to file a complaint with the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) on behalf of clients who have faced language access violations such as lack of interpreters for day-to-day conversations with ICE/CBP officers, signing English-language documents without language assistance, and difficulties getting health services in their primary language.
Please customize and use this template to file similar complaints. After you use this complaint, please report out on filing. By doing so, you will help our partners track the scale of these issues for additional advocacy with DHS and DOJ.
