AILA Welcomes Torey Carter-Conneen as Deputy Director of Finance and Operations

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) announced today that Torey Carter-Conneen will join the organization as Deputy Director of Finance and Operations beginning June 6, 2016. In this position, Mr. Carter-Conneen will serve as a critical member of the senior management team in the National Office and will work with AILA’s elected leadership in implementing the strategic vision and planning for the organization.

Before joining AILA, Mr. Carter-Conneen served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Center for American Progress. Prior to his position with the Center for American Progress, Mr. Carter-Conneen was the CFO and Interim President and CEO of the Victory Fund & Institute, a nonpartisan organization that helps outstanding lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) leaders win elections and serve effectively. Mr. Carter-Conneen also served as the managing director of Victory, overseeing all financial, programmatic, and operational functions of the organization, providing fact-based, metric-driven strategy development to drive organizational success.

Mr. Carter-Conneen is a graduate of the University of Maryland University College where he obtained an M.B.A. with a concentration on global business management and emerging markets. He also holds degrees in economics and accounting from George Mason University. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
