The Board of Immigration Appeals recently issued a precedential decision, Matter of M-R-M-S-, 28 I&N Dec. 757 (BIA 2023), which addresses the issue of nexus in a family-based asylum case. This roundtable will begin with an overview of the decision, then discuss some tips for how to frame cases in light of Matter of M-R-M-S-, and then open up a discussion of what practitioners are seeing in their cases.
This roundtable is presented by AILA's Asylum and Refugee Committee.
