USCIS Announcements Regarding Office Closings in 2018

October 29, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that its Asylum Office in Houston, TX, will be closed November 2, 2018, beginning at 11:00 am; it will resume operations on Monday, November 5, 2018.


October 5, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that its Asylum Office in Arlington, VA, will open to the public on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 1:00 pm (ET). The alert also notes that USCIS Moscow is currently open to the public by appointment only; however, starting October 8, 2018, it will be closed to the public and no appointments will be available. The USCIS Moscow office will reopen to the public on December 10, 2018, by appointment only.


August 23, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that its Field Office and Application Support Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, is closed on August 23-24, 2018, and scheduled appointments for these dates are being rescheduled due to hazardous weather. The agency further notified that its Field Offices in Brooklyn, New York, and Queens are open and appointments scheduled before 10:00 am (ET) on August 15, 2018, will be rescheduled for the same time slot on August 24, 2018.


August 20, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that its Application Support Center in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) will be closed August 20, 2018, due to hazardous weather.


July 19, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that its Application Support Center in Fort Worth, Texas, closed July 19, 2018, at 12:00 pm (CT) due to a facility issue. Applicants who were scheduled for biometrics appointments on July 19, 2018, after 12:00 pm (CT) may return on July 20, 2018, to be processed.


July 17, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that its field office in San Juan, Puerto Rico, will be closed on July 25, 2018, due to a local holiday.


June 4, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that the Manila, Philippines, field office will be closed on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, and resume normal operating hours on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Additionally, the Asylum Office in Arlington, Virginia, will be closed on June 5, 2018, and June 18, 2018, for employee trainings.


May 14, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that the Amman, Jordan field office will be closing early on May 14, 2018 due to planned protests.


March 21, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that the following states have field support offices and application support centers that are closed due to weather: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Vermont. The Arlington, VA and Newark, New Jersey Asylum Offices are also closed. Additionally, the St. Croix ASC has begun scheduling appointments for April 2018, after being closed due to Hurricane Maria.


March 13, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that the following field support offices and application support centers are closed due to weather: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. The Boston, MA Asylum Office is also closed.


March 7, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that the following field offices will either be closed or will close early on 3/7/18: Hartford, Connecticut; Atlanta, Georgia; Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; Newark, New Jersey; Albany, New York; Brooklyn, New York; Long Island, New York; New York City, New York; Queens, New York.


March 6, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that the Cleveland, Ohio field office is closed from 3/5/18 to 3/9/18 due to construction.


February 9, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that the following field support offices are closed due to weather: Chicago, Illinois; Detroit, Michigan; Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Several application support centers in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin are also closed.


January 30, 2018

USCIS posted an alert that the following field support offices are now closed: Fort Benning, GA, Fort Jackson, SC, and Fort Sill, Oklahoma.


January 18, 2018

USCIS posted an alert regarding the following office closures:

The following field offices are closed: Atlanta, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and Greer, South Carolina.

The following application support centers are closed: Atlanta, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte, North Carolina; and Greer, South Carolina.

The Atlanta, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Houston, Texas Asylum Offices are closed.


January 17, 2018

USCIS posted an alert regarding the following office closures:

The following field offices are closed: Montgomery, Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia, New Orleans, Louisiana, Charlotte and Raleigh-Duram, North Carolina, Greer, South Carolina, and Harlingen and Houston, Texas.

The following application support centers are closed: Birmingham, Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia, New Orleans, Louisiana, Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte, North Carolina, Greer, South Carolina, and McAllen, Harlingen, and all Houston offices, Texas.

The New Orleans, Louisiana and Houston, Texas Asylum Offices are closed.


January 16, 2018

USCIS posted an alert regarding office closings.

The following field offices were closed due to hazardous weather: Memphis, Tennessee, Houston and San Antonio, Texas.

The following application support centers were closed due to hazardous weather: Birmingham, Alabama, Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, and Austin, Texas.

USCIS also noted that the Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Field Office and Application Support Center in the U.S. Virgin Islands reopened on January 8, 2018, with limited services.

The Houston, Texas Asylum Office closed at 10:00 am (CT) due to hazardous weather.
