On 9/14/17, Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX) introduced the Immigration in the National Interest Act of 2017 (H.R. 3775). This is the House companion bill of S. 1720: Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy (RAISE) Act, introduced by Senators Tom Cotton (R-AR) and David Perdue (R-GA).
