White House Releases Fact Sheet on Executive Order Ending Federal Benefits for Undocumented Immigrants

The White House released a fact sheet stating that, on 2/19/25, President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) directing federal departments and agencies to identify all federally funded programs currently providing financial benefits to undocumented immigrants and to “take corrective action.” The stated aim of the order is to ensure “that [f]ederal funds to states and localities will not be used to support ‘sanctuary’ policies or assist illegal immigration” and to mandate “improvements in eligibility verification to prevent benefits from going to individuals unlawfully present in the United States.”
